MYSTICAL PARADIGMS

Fear is one of the main obstacles to spiritual growth and mystical teachings.  Most fears come from misunderstanding.  Since many in the west were not born learning and using metaphysics and mystical lessons as part of our culture, we often view mystical teachings as fables, superstitions, and fallacies.  Psychic development, knowledge of the chakras, energy healing, alternative healing, meditation, ESP, magic, and others are all based on sound concepts and solid foundations that have been studied and applied for ages.  However, in Western societies, this powerful wisdom has been lost because of fear and lack of understanding.

Mysticism seeks to Understand

When establishing a strong foundation to build the mystical arts, you must be ready to put the pieces of the puzzle together.  Knowing that you must first gather them before any placement can even begin.  These puzzle pieces have come from the teachings of many spiritual books and teachers.  Therefore, looking for the similarities and oneness in their messages is Key.

The term “mysticism” has Ancient Greek origins meaning “to conceal,” “hidden wisdom” and “to initiate.”  This is why the terms sacred knowledge is often applied to mysticism.  It is also where the occult comes in since “occult” describes some of the supernatural or magical beliefs, practices, and phenomena associated with mysticism.

Mysticism is really a highly intellectual science of the relationship between the visible and invisible things and their power.  Its doctrine calls for works of humanity and their communion with God.  It is the earnest pursuit of understanding the laws of connecting one to a higher mind, higher realms and God.

In ancient times, only those who were mentally and emotionally ready could become initiates to take training to unite with God.  According to Oxford University, mysticism is the belief in the possibility of union with God, Spirit, or the Divine Nature using ecstatic contemplation and the reliance on Intuition for knowledge.  Mysticism and the pursuit of this higher mind have no mundane leaders.  One said leader was Jesus, from the Christian belief, who spent 40 days in the dessert – elevating himself in communions with the Divine.

Sacred books and doctrines say, “man possesses an innate link with the Divine from which all things emanate and which all things are dependent.”  These doctrines also say, “man goes through steps, called initiations, in an attempt to have a personal relationship/union with his or her concept of God and to reach transcendental power.”

Mysticism is called many names that one might not know as mysticism.  The seed of mysticism is planted in magic, psychic skills, esoteric science, the study of the true nature of God, Mantic Art and more.   Learning about and studying any of the forms of mysticism causes advance stages of learning and create paradigm shifts in your thinking.

Theologians may quarrel, but the mystics of the world speak the same language.”
